Description
The Admixture Systems North American business of BASF's Construction Chemicals division is a leading provider of innovative admixtures for specialty concrete used in the ready mix, precast, manufactured concrete products, underground construction and paving markets throughout the North American region.

The Technical Specialist position exists to support field service activities as related to Admixture dispenser equipment. Support will be realized through extensive work with key vendors as well as direct interaction with Dispenser Service Technicians and Field Sales. Admixture Industry.
- Provide technical support to the Dispenser Service Technicians (DST’s) to assist in resolving equipment problems.
- Write technical documents to notify DST’s of problem resolutions and/or revise maintenance procedures.
- Create, maintain, and update all dispenser service documents to ensure proper documentation is available to support field service activities.
- Work with vendor partners to resolve equipment specific problems.
- Work with vendor partners to ensure the correct parts are available to the field and stocked in appropriate volumes.

Description
This position is responsible for providing civil, structural and architectural engineering of new chemical plants, major expansions and debottlenecking of existing plants and infrastructure facilities for conception, design, and execution phases of projects. This includes project scope development, conceptual planning, estimating, detailed design, project execution, and coordination of capital and expense projects. Additionally, this position provides interpretation of building codes, evaluations of existing facilities and provides expertise, knowledge, and interpretations in ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC, and other applicable Codes and Standards.

It provides technical direction for Discipline Engineers and Designers (in-house and/or third party engineering firm) during the engineering phase of the projects. Insures quality design, cost/scope compliance, and schedule activities are met as related to Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering and Design.

It also participates in teams, internal committees and ad hoc assignments to represent the Civil, Structural and Architectural discipline. This includes interaction with other sites and North American personnel, review, validate, and provide feedback on new and revised BASF Technical Standards, Corporate policies and procedures. Centers of Expertise (CoE's) and peer working teams are examples.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- in the Chemical and/or Petrochemical industry.
- with procurement and construction of capital projects including evaluation of bids/proposals, construction contracting, and constructability issues, such as site work, foundations, and structural steel.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED IN:
- coordinating, supporting, and executing multiple project modifications, debottlenecking, maintenance activities, and retrofits involving multi-discipline interfaces.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

This position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Licence preferred.

10+ years experience in civil/structural design engineering and related fields, with at least 5 years experience at the senior level in the Petrochemical or related industry

General computer skills including Microsoft Office software.

KNOWLEDGE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS IS A PLUS:
- STAADPro structural design software.
- Understanding of Geotechnical Engineering
- Railroad design.
- Road design.
- Drainage design

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
