Where the Chemistry Happens…

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager the Agriculture Sales Representative role is driving accelerated sales growth of BASF’s new innovations to assigned growers; developing, cultivating and maintaining business relationships with top growers; working effectively with retail partners, as well as, managing relationships with the channel. The Agriculture Sales Representative role will also actively prospect for new business to expand their customer base. The ideal candidate will have a strong market and customer focus and be able to translate this into clear business strategies to generate growth.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Responsible for seeds & CP field activities at customer (Retail & Grower) level for the business BASF AP portfolio
- Manage market development execution, crop activities and product positioning
- Responsible for KPIs related to volume, share, value & financial sales targets at district level
- Responsible for retailer and grower interaction for demand generation
- Responsible for tactical plan execution and sales forecasts
- Gain comprehensive understanding of territory needs as it relates to the Agricultural product portfolio
- Develop a complete understanding of products and applications in the portfolio
- Ability to drive "hunting" efforts to grow future business in the Agricultural segment and Identifies, negotiates and close new opportunities for our products
- Increase market intelligence by providing information around industries, competitors and customers to Marketing

Qualifications

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor Degree in Science, such as Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Business or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relative selling or technical background within an Agricultural related field such as seed or crop consulting
- Proven success with large operation growers
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills
- The ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers as well as internal teammates
- Ability to self-manage time and resources and to allocate time and energy appropriately, to achieve goals
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel overnight on a weekly basis
- Passionate about making a difference in the agriculture industry. Strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to do 80% territory travel with occasional overnight travel
