Where the Chemistry Happens…

Welder Fitter (1703359) – Buffalo, NY
- Responsible for safe operation and care/maintenance of equipment
- Tack and weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum in accordance with welding codes and specifications
- Lay out, fit, tack and weld component members for system assemblies
- Lay out stud and hole locations
- Fit, tack and weld sub-assemblies such as splices, stainless steel sheet, plates, bars, rings and shipping devices
- Continuous welding of lengths using semi-automatic high deposition welding process
- Heat straighten bent, twisted or warped members to drawing or general tolerances
- Set-up and operate portable radiograph burning machine and hand burning torches
- Operate all fabrication equipment: saws, stud welders, ironworkers, benders, drill presses, punches, shot blaster and a variety of portable of hand tools
- Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, tow motors and other material handling equipment
- Perform a variety of welding and fabricating operations on various fabricated assemblies

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Basic qualifications:
- Must have the ability to read and interpret shop drawings
- Must be AWS qualified – flat, horizontal and vertical in MIG, TIG and GMAW
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in welding
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
