We are seeking a Process Safety Specialist to join our team and work together with our partners to protect our people, plants, communities, and reputation from the hazards of our processes and products.

Process Safety Specialist (1801532)

You will provide process safety expertise to safely carry out our operations by identifying and controlling the hazards of the materials we handle; the chemical processes we run; and the physical equipment we use. By leading design reviews for new and existing processes, you will help ensure the safe design and on-going operation of our facilities, and reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and illnesses to employees and customers.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Continually improve technical competency in process safety and that of colleagues involved with the design and operation of our facilities.
- Provide expert consultation on process safety issues and developing and delivering specific process safety training content, courses, and seminars across the North America community.
- Develop compliance strategies for Company, federal, state, and provincial requirements, including Responsible Care® activities, as they impact the operations of the Company and our customers and partners.
- Function as a key part of a close-knit semi-virtual team, which interdependently supports the development, performance, and success of each team member and the entire team.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or Science discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Progressive work experience and at least 2 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or direct manufacturing support roles with an understanding of chemical processing and technologies.
- Regulatory and technical expertise is highly desired.
- Experience in the implementation of Process Safety programs is a plus.
- Must be able and willing to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, with occasional international travel.
- Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
