We are seeking a Key Account Manager to join our Performance Materials (PM) organization, supporting the Southeastern Region.

Key Account Manager - Southeast (1701530) – Remote Position

As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for growing the Southeastern territory sales revenues and profits. You will also manage all aspects of two global strategic accounts.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Develop commercial proposals and provide solutions to competitive issues and customer problems
- Establish and execute sales account strategy and plan to accomplish objectives with customers
- Identify and communicate market trends, customer needs, and competitive information to the Performance Materials (PM) Consumer organization
- Manage all aspects of customer relationships
- Gain working understanding of customers’ applications and markets
- Effectively manage territory expenses
- Maintain current customers and prospective accounts
- Develop new business within the assigned territory
- Establish a working understanding of Performance Materials product lines
- Build and maintain a current and accurate Sales Action Plan
- Maintain a monthly “key action plan” and “review of previous plan”
- Develop and maintain a “pipeline” for new business growth
- Prepare a monthly summary for the territory (and customers within the territory) to include financial performance, highlights, lowlights, potential new business, potential lost business, pricing, and market intelligence
- Prioritize and utilize available resources (e.g., management, technical, manufacturing, customer service) to accomplish objectives with customers
- Complete filing of call reports, expense reports, and all other written communications in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the PM business

Where you'll work…

You'll be based in a location that has easy access to an airport, allowing you to service your regional accounts. Your main territory will be primarily composed of GA, Carolinas and AL. Our opportunities can take you all over the world...

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- BS/BA in Engineering, Business, or Related Field with 7+ years of experience in a sales/technical/business management function – OR- MS/MBA in same with 5+ years of experience
- Successful track record of sales growth and profit management
- Experience in creating and implementing key account plans and strategies
- Willing and able to travel 50% - 75% of the time
- Ability to: develop and cultivate new business; form and manage across organizational layers and functions; lead people and teams; manage people without direct authority
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
