Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Area Supervisor is responsible for obtaining specified levels of performance in the areas of safety, quality, compliance, cost and personnel performance. The Area Supervisor manages the work force responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant. This is accomplished by encouraging employee ownership, promoting effective decision making and problem solving, maintaining high standards and developing direct reports utilizing high performance organization principles.

Logistics Area Superintendent (1800076) - Attapulgus, GA
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with all BASF and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain operational discipline to deliver reliable and predictable plant operation.
- Ensure lean standard work procedures are followed to drive operational standardization across all teams.
- Hold direct reports responsible for maintaining established performance standards and policies.
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to optimize all aspects of the production operations in terms of employee and equipment performance.
- Develop and implement training plans and schedules to maintain stable plant operations and minimize overtime.
- Conduct employee performance & development discussions and drive corrective actions as appropriate.
- Appropriately deal with and resolve personnel related performance issues.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators to provide guidance to teams to maximize performance in support of business goals.
- Lead all safety incident (AIM) investigations involving the actions & behaviors of direct reports.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- High School diploma or GED equivalent with 6 years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required; OR a 4 year college degree with two years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Demonstrated analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills with an ability to quickly address and resolve equipment and personnel issues.
- Lean 6 Sigma knowledge/training a plus.
- Candidate must be a proactive, motivated, self-starter capable of working with limited supervision and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to lead and motivate employees.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with a computer and Microsoft Office Suite software. Experience with SAP preferred.
