Where the Chemistry Happens…

This role will support the development of a global BIM strategy for the construction chemicals division by giving insight from the perspective of the user on what is necessary as a product and solution provider to effectively participate in the BIM revolution. S/he will support the development and implementation of a strategy for EB globally to exploit the industry trend towards BIM-guided construction processes.

In addition, the successful candidate will develop measures to position EB as a leading influencer for architects and investors through the use of BIM objects in the field of construction chemicals. The role will foster knowledge transfer to marketing and sales organizations within EB and potential customers.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Lead coordinated efforts to survey customer needs (e.g., Architects, Planning Engineers, Cost consultants, Contractors, Applicators, Distributors, Owner/Operators) with regard to BIM in combination with the construction chemicals portfolio and construction process.
- Support near-term understanding of BIM and related activities (e.g., digital solutions, life cycle prediction models, building eco-performance models) underway in some EB countries, and support efficient establishment of systems.
- Develop and implement measures to most efficiently and effectively establish a BIM presence in the relevant markets among core users.
- Foster representation of EB (globally) in relevant committees developing BIM strategies for national implementations and industry organizations for target users
- Lead coordinated effort to define standards for EB BIM objects.
- Support customer interaction on larger construction projects with project-specific BIM solutions.
- Develop and provide BIM training to sales, marketing, specification, business development communities within EB, and customers as necessary
- Travel up to 50% as required to execute on global duties.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
- Prior background in Architecture, Design, Engineer, or General Contracting.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction related roles, or a minimum of 2 years of active use of BIM systems.
- Practical experience in the use of digital planning methods, specifically BIM.
- Experience with software, including AutoCad and Revit.
- Experience in working with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
- Presentation skills to run workshops with both theoretical and practical content.
