Where the Chemistry Happens…

This role will support the development of a Global BIM strategy for the Construction Chemicals division by providing insight from the perspective of IT on what is necessary as a product and solution provider to effectively participate in the BIM revolution. S/he will support the development and implementation of a strategy for EB globally to exploit the industry trend towards BIM-guided construction processes.

In addition, the successful candidate will develop measures and IT tools to position EB as a leading influencer for all value chain participants through the use of BIM objects, software, and platforms in the field of construction chemicals. The role will foster knowledge transfer to marketing and sales organizations within EB globally and potential customers.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Develop EB recommendations in alignment with internal stakeholders; implement the BIM IT infrastructure for EB globally
- Lead work packages for near-term understanding of activities underway in some EB countries, and support efficient establishment of data management systems, procedures, and processes to support BIM activities.
- Develop and implement measures to most efficiently and effectively establish a BIM presence in the relevant markets among core users.
- Foster representation of EB (globally) in relevant committees and developing BIM strategies for national implementations, and industry organizations for target users.
- Lead IT support work packages and the efforts to define standards for EB BIM objects.
- Lead solutions development for customer interactions with IT solutions (e.g., plugins and apps) for specific BIM challenges.
- Provide training to sales, marketing, specification, business development communities, and customers as required
- Travel up to 50% as required to execute on global duties.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
- A combination of at least 5 years of experience in IT-related consulting roles with 2 years of experience with Autodesk, Revit, or similar BIM system, with hands-on design experience with heavy focus on IT and data management.
- Experience in construction industry a plus
- Strong database management and platform management experience.
- App development experience preferred,
- Practical experience in the use of digital planning methods, specifically BIM.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Presentation skills to run workshops with both theoretical and practical content.
