Purpose of the Job

As a Talent Acquisition Advisor, you will be responsible for consultative recruitment of outstanding talent. You will partner with hiring managers to understand their business and talent needs in order to ensure the highest quality candidates are presented in the most time effective manner. You will collaborate across sourcing, candidate care and diversity strategy, leveraging critical thinking and influencing skills to resolve complex and challenging situations.

Principal Responsibilities

Successful Talent Acquisition Advisors at BASF:

• Leverage organizational strategy and labor market knowledge to find top talent; clearly able to manage business leader expectations on talent availability (by leveraging market analytics) and help them make tradeoffs between quality and speed
• Development and execution of a staffing strategy focused on creative sourcing methods to identify high-potential, diverse talent.
• Are able to anticipate changing needs of hiring managers and the businesses he/she supports
• Are adept at building and maintaining a strong internal network with key stakeholders
• Effectively balance process excellence and strategic effectiveness
• Hold themselves accountable for performance targets (ie conversion ratio, recruiting effectiveness, hiring manager and candidate satisfaction)
• Enable optimization of hiring decisions in the context of the broader talent strategy
• Challenge and educate hiring managers on talent assessment, business/talent risks of hiring certain candidates, and talent assumptions


• Comprehensive behavioral based interviewing and candidate assessment skills
• Demonstrated experience building relationships, consulting and influencing hiring managers in regards to candidate sourcing and selection, market demographics, and broadening search parameters to improve quality of talent pool
• Experience developing and executing recruitment strategies in varied regional markets, preferably in a high volume, fast paced environment, with ownership over the candidate and hiring manager experience
• Knowledge of current networking and sourcing trends including extensive use of LinkedIn and social media channels
• Current knowledge of state and federal employment/labor laws and practices

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

• Bachelor’s degree required

• 3+ years of combined HR and professional recruiting experience.

• Proven success partnering with the customer to execute the recruitment strategy effectively.
• High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Highly skilled utilizing enterprise-wide Applicant Tracking Systems such as Taleo, Kenexa BrassRing or SAP E-recruit.
• Prior experience working within a team environment is a must.
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Detail oriented - must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Polished interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to think logically and work independently with minimal direction
• Ability to prioritize and complete a high volume of work, managing multiple projects and coordinating multiple requests to successful completion
• Must be persistent and aggressive in following up to obtain information from various sources.
