Where the Chemistry Happens…

We have an opportunity for an entry level Environmental Specialist to join our Beaumont, TX, site and be directly responsible for coordinating efforts to ensure compliance with Environmental requirements within the BASF Texas Hub Manufacturing Sites.

EHS Specialist - Environmental (1701233)

You will work closely with Operations personnel to secure environmental permits and establish systems necessary to maintain compliance with multi-media environmental requirements. Although the position has multi-media responsibilities (i.e. air, water and waste) the overwhelming focus will be on air.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Interface with State and Federal Regulatory Agencies on permit applications, permit negotiations, Agency inspections, enforcement issues and reports.
- Interface with Plant Operations and Engineering to develop compliance strategies.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- BS degree required; Chemical Engineering or Science degree highly preferred
- 3 years of experience implementing environmental compliance programs preferred
- Experience at a petrochemical facility and/or refinery at a major SOCMI manufacturing facility or experience at a Regulatory Agency or Consulting a strong plus.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork and negotiating skills highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
