Job Summary:

Provides QC support to QC Lead, Shift QC Techs and manufacturing on a day-today basis. Duties include testing product, recording and reporting results in applicable systems, performing packaging quality inspections, interfacing with production personnel and plant management, and basic troubleshooting on product and packaging quality issues.

Essential Job Functions:
- Performs QC testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Maintains retrievable and traceable system of quality documentation and related items along with inventory control samples.
- Maintains raw material COA files and provides clerical support to QC Lead.
- Cleans and maintains the lab equipment and physical lab space.
- Performs daily packaging inspections and reports results to appropriate plant resources.
- Troubleshoots routine product or packaging quality issues and creates internal NCMs within SAP.
- Provides vacation coverage for the night shift QC Technicians.
- Participates in the Brighton ERP Observation Process.
- Provides support to QC Lead projects and deliverables including rework, calibration, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Follow all appropriate Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) policies.
- Wears prescribed Personal Protective equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used.
- Notifies his/her supervisor before undertaking a work activity in which he/she is not adequately trained.
- Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.
- Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of BASF’s Vision and Guiding Principles. Must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to appropriate managers or directors. Responsible for the safety of themselves and others.
- Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned by QC Lead or QC/QA manager.

Accountabilities
- Performs routine QC testing in a timely manner that is consistent with production needs.
- Provides daily reporting to QC Lead regarding packaging inspections, NCMs, and other activities.
- Provides routine feedback to QC/QA Manager regarding assigned projects and other activities.
- Works as part of the QC team to meet department goals and deliverables.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Qualifications:
- Associates degree preferred, may consider college coursework in a scientific or technical discipline plus job experience in lieu of degree.
- 1 year QC experience in a manufacturing laboratory setting or 2+ years of experience in a non-lab QC setting
- 2 years of data entry experience
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.
- 1 year of SAP Z2L experience highly desired.
- 1 year of Forklift experience highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal communication capabilities to interface daily with manufacturing, QC, and plant management.
- Can update or create basic QC forms and work instructions.
- Familiarity with viscometers, density cups, durometers, and titration processes preferred.
- Familiarity with urethane sealant and coatings manufacturing process preferred.
- Strong math skills.
- Works well with others or alone with minimal supervision.
- Can perform routine troubleshooting on frequently used lab equipment.
- Flexibility of schedule/can work a variety of afternoon and evening hours including 12 hour shift coverage.
