The Construction Solutions Group is dedicated to bringing innovative formulated solutions to our customers in the construction industry by combining the entire BASF portfolio of products and services. We have an opening for an Account Manager in the following areas: Building Materials and Infrastructure.

Account Manager – Building Materials and Infrastructure (1705167) – Charlotte, NC

The Account Manager is responsible for introducing the BASF product portfolio to new and existing customers while driving profitable growth. S/he will manage a complete portfolio (consisting of dispersions, resins, and formulation additives) and full relationship with customers by implementing agreed-upon sales strategy while communicating and coordinating with Strategic Account Managers, Technical Services, Industry Marketing, and other functional groups to develop and facilitate the overall Customer Experience.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Develop lasting customer relationships to identify business trends in and beyond the customer scope or respective product portfolio.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts by supporting efficient planning of products and services.
- Apply the overall sales process, aiming to meet or exceed sales targets within assigned accounts.
- Identify customer requirements and offer business fit solutions and value propositions.
- Negotiate and close opportunities or contracts with customers and provide operational guidance
- and support to the relevant functional groups (Customer Care, Supply Chain, Product Management) to ensure implementation.
- Focus on utilization of CRM and Sales Process efficiency to improve customer satisfaction by aligning with Industry Marketing, Technical Services, Product Management, Customer Care, and Supply Chain to support specific customer needs.
- Conduct customer-specific concepts and strategies and align them with Strategic Account Management, Technical Services, and Industry Marketing to support the Customer Experience.
- Identify and attract new customers, pursue new applications, and grow relationships to continuously grow current and future business.
- Continuously support market intelligence gathering on both current and potential customer portfolio, and competitor activities and market solutions.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in a business or science discipline.
- At least 8 years of work experience in sales and/or marketing with demonstrated ability to do:
- Continuously drive growth through the existing customer portfolio.
- Communicate, interact, and influence effectively across multiple levels of customer organization.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and work management skills to effectively prioritize customer needs and activities.
- Utilize CRM to drive growth, retain customer knowledge, and increase organizational effectiveness.
- Ability to understand, develop, and communicate value propositions.
- Ability to negotiate and implement contracts, pricing structures, and general business needs
- Must have outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven track record of building strong customer and internal relationships.
