Formulation Additives Laboratory Technician -1703805 – Charlotte, NC

The Formulation Additives Laboratory Technician will complete hands-on application work under the direction of laboratory staff on projects for existing and new products entering the commercialization phase to support growth with our customers. This position is part of the Application Laboratory team reporting to the Technical Service Manager for Formulation Additives. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Support Chemists/Technical Specialists in completing laboratory projects for customer projects
- Conduct benchmarking evaluations to compare BASF products to the competition
- Performs technical application tests of products for troubleshooting to derive product and/or formulation recommendations
- Complaint management (production and/or customer)
- Works in compliance with EH&S and ISO standards

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in a technical discipline
- 1 year of coatings experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong laboratory skills and ability to work on multiple tasks and projects
- Experience in application &/or formulation of related technology
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and also on individual efforts
- Ability to work well under minimum supervision
- Work in compliance with EH&S and ISO standards
