Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Marketing Manager is responsible for global marketing activities for the Kaolin business, covering industries including coatings, thermal paper, plastics and rubber, and wire and cable.

This role will collaborate with sales, technical and business management, channel partners, customers, and marketing communications to create and capture prospects and support customers at every stage of the buying cycle, from initial inquiry, to product sampling, to post-sales support.

This role will also be the global technical lead for the paper industry with focus on thermal paper and will provide applications support to our customer base.

Global Marketing Manager - Kaolin (1703546) – Charlotte, NJ

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Play a key role in the SBU strategy which includes:
- Gathering and analyzing market data by segment and region.
- Reviewing relevant third-party and internal market intelligence.
- Constructing segment and regional growth rates from market intelligence for review by business management.
- Participating in development of SBU strategy and designs marketing plan to support it.
- Partner with sales managers and 50+ global channel partners to create marketing content for customers at various stages of the buying cycle, including brochures, drip campaigns, and related materials.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the product launch process from launch strategy through to review/debrief.
- Collaborate with sales, channel partners, and customers to collect voice of customer (VOC) insights, using them to drive our product innovation pipeline and tailor brand messaging.
- Manage all aspects of the public website and Distributor Portal, including posting new content, tracking activity, and making functional changes.
- Technical support of the paper market including ability to interface with customers and provide direct applications support.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with key decision-makers at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate ability to lead and influence others by taking risks, driving change, and building trust.
- Use entrepreneurial drive to identify gaps within the organization and take the initiative to improve them.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline required.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience with a diverse commercial background across at least two or more of the following: marketing, sales, technical service, or related commercial roles in a customer-focused environment.
- Experience working in a global business.
- Technical comprehension.
- Travel up to 50%.
- Experience working directly with customers to maintain existing business and develop new business.
- Marketing acumen, problem-solving capability, initiative, and creativity.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, negotiating, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to achieve business goals relative to portfolio profitability, growth, and costs.
- Ability to effectively influence others and work in multi-functional and diverse teams.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and work management skills to effectively prioritize activities.
- Experience managing vendor relationships is a plus.
- Relevant technical experience related to kaolin markets.
- Ability to develop USP’s and VIU arguments.
