Sales/New Business Development Manager – Charlotte, NC or Southfield, MI area - 1704558

We are seeking a Sales and New Business Development Manager to develop customer and partner business relationships that create long-term value for BASF and our customers, while meeting and exceeding sales goals and objectives.

As the Sales and New Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and execution of customer account strategies that maintain and grow our product portfolio. In addition, you will function as BASF’s face to our customers, to other BASF business units, to market influencers and industry partners.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Define and implement customer strategic account plans to achieve sales and profitability growth in line with Business Unit (BU) strategies.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Negotiate contracts and provide operational guidance and support to the relevant functional departments to ensure implementation.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and support efficient planning of products and services.
- Work with product managers, technical account managers, technical specialists, and market segment managers to identify future growth areas.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Field Sales, Marketing, and/or Business Development (equivalent combination of education and experience would also be considered); advanced degree (MBA) and/or seven (7) or more years of the aforementioned experience preferred.
- Experience with Account Management and/or demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships.
- Proven leadership skills, excellent communications and interpersonal skills, persuasive selling and demonstrated negotiation skills; Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proven record of goal attainment; diversity of thinking, organizational awareness, with ability to think strategically and creatively
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Strong business acumen

Preferred:
- Knowledge of applications for minerals / mined products
