The Technology Manager will be part of the Operations team and will be based in Charlotte, NC or Monaca, PA and support the overall success of the Dispersions & Resins business in North America.

The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fiberbondings, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing. Reporting to the VP, Operations Dispersions/Resins North America, you will provide process technology leadership to all dispersion plants. This includes leadership for process safety, process optimization, project/process engineering, new product introduction, and best practice sharing/implementation. In addition, you will ensure that processes and activities comply with BASF policies, regulations and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship. As the Technology Manager, you will be a member of the LT, as well as the Global Technology team, and will interact with global business and R&D colleagues and support organizations across BASF North America in achieving the Dispersions strategy.

Identify and manage all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, community interaction, quality, cost, equipment optimization and reliability.

Direct input into the manufacturing and asset strategy to ensure assets are aligned with business strategies; that ensure technology transfers are issue-free; as well as provide for reliable & flexible product availability while maximizing asset utilization.

Manage commercialization of new products into our sites and/or tolling operations.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- BS degree in chemical engineering or chemistry with a minimum of 8 years of experience in operations and/or engineering and/or technology functions. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience in dispersion/emulsion manufacturing and knowledge of emulsion & resin polymerization manufacturing technologies.
- Excellent analytical/problem solving skills with ability to analyze complex technical and operational data and develop effective solutions and continuous process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence people at all levels in the organization, customers, suppliers and other external contacts that allows for achievement of substantial results through others.
- Capital project management experience preferred, including front end loading development, process design, cost, optimization and commissioning/start-up.
- Working knowledge with other primary engineering disciplines through project work (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation & controls).
- PSM/RMP/RCMS expertise and commitment to EHS standards and practices.
