Sales at BASF revolves around the customer experience and driving profitable growth. The foundation for this is a strong team that brings specific application, industry and market knowledge in order to understand the diverse markets where we play and build trusting and satisfying customer relationships.

We are looking for a Regional Business Manager to support sales in a region including Cleveland, Columbus and Pittsburgh areas.

Reporting to the Zone Manager, the Regional Business Manager will be responsible to drive the business strategy in his/her respective region through leadership and coaching of the sales team.

Regional Business Manager, Automotive Refinish (1700796)

You will be responsible for beyond the day-to-day sales management to provide leadership in people development, process improvements and system development inside and outside the geographic region to deliver profitable organic growth for BASF in North America. In addition, this position is the lead management contact for strategic distributors and collision centers to build and manage relationships within the local markets.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Ensure business strategy is communicated and executed throughout the sales organization.
- Develop an annual strategic business plan for assigned region that is aligned to the overall ECR business strategy.
- Gather key market information to include BASF and competitive information, market intelligence, out of the box thinking and innovative ideas to provide to the business for inclusion in the strategy planning process.
- Manage financial budget in assigned Region to include sales, credits, travel & expense and customer financing.
- Provide coaching to team to include leadership, talent management and career discussions.
- Meet with strategic collision centers in assigned region on an ongoing basis.
- Identify and execute on new distribution opportunities.
- Meet with distribution partners in assigned region to drive growth.
- Manage the CRM system to drive accountability and quality of information.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- Bachelor degree in a related field required, MBA is preferred
- 5 - 10 years of sales or similar leadership experience plus a minimum five years of experience in managing a team (preferably remote sales) and developing and executing business plans
- Strong customer focus and business acumen including experience in managing financials - P&L statements, expense control, forecasting, sales budgeting, etc.
- Experience managing market complexity through multiple stakeholders and working laterally and horizontally within an organization
- Strong computer skills such as MS-Office, CRM, web browsers, etc.
- Able and willing to travel 75% of the time
- Ability to build effective teams, direct and motivate others, set priorities and manage conflict; managing and measuring others’ work an asset
