Strategic Accounts Manager - Nationwide (1701926) – Remote Position

As a Crop Protection Strategic Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing a major National account. You will meet BASF specified targets by creating value for the existing customer base and prospecting for new opportunities with products, services, and/or solutions from BASF.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Manage business relationships with assigned distributor(s), which may include Corporate and/or Regional Business relationships
- Develop an approved 3 Year Business Plan, as part of the business planning cycle with assigned distributor(s), and function as part of the Strategic Account Team that sets and implements distribution and marketing strategy
- Disseminate BASFs core strategy, distributor goals, and objectives throughout all levels of the Distributor's organization, ensuring all key influencers fully understand and support the strategic direction and goals
- Communicate and facilitate sales responsibilities with Regional and District managers, allowing for effective business solutions to be developed representing mutually successful and profitable results; Ensure BASF is positioned as a preferred supplier
- Identify business opportunities for assigned distributor(s); Work with relevant BASF groups to provide required resources to meet such opportunities; Set and agree to stretch targets with Distributor and BASF Management that will be monitored monthly

Where you'll work…

You'll be based in a location that has easy access to an airport, allowing you to service your National account. Your main territory will be primarily composed of IA & MN, with the accounts spanning as far as TX. Our opportunities can take you all over the world...

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- BA/BS with 10+ years of experience in Field Sales Management, Marketing, and/or Business Development -OR- MS/MBA with 8+ years of experience in Field Sales Management, Marketing, and/or Business Development
- Experience with Account Management
- Demonstrated understanding of the distribution system, business cycles and competitive relationships of distribution accounts
- Proven leadership skills, excellent communications and interpersonal skills, persuasive selling and demonstrated negotiation skills; Highly self-motivated and goal orientated with a proven record of goal attainment; Diversity of thinking, organizational awareness, ability to think strategically and creatively and to act as a change agent

We Also Look For…
- Educational degree in Business, Agriculture Business, Agricultural Science or Related Field
- Experience in Field Sales Management, Marketing, and/or Business Development within the Agricultural field
- Experience with Regional or National Accounts
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated understanding of the agricultural market, specifically the relationship of the Distributor/Channel partner within the major row-crop and specialty US Crop markets
