The BASF division of Care Chemicals offers a broad range of ingredients for hygiene, personal care, home care, industrial & institutional cleaning, and technical applications. We are the leading supplier for the cosmetics industry as well as the detergents and cleaning agents industry and support our customers worldwide with innovative and sustainable products, solutions, and concepts. The division’s high-performance product portfolio includes surfactants, emulsifiers, polymers, emollients, chelating agents, cosmetic active ingredients, pigments, and UV filters. The Production Supervisor will supervise the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives; prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply; adhere to and manage Standard Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Instructions and develop schedule and manpower requirements for assigned areas; as well as select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation and productivity.

- Supervise department staff to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Complete all leadership responsibilities associated with the performance management, salary administration and employee development processes.
- Coach and develop employees for high performance.
- Compose, monitor and enforce SOP’s and Manufacturing Instructions.
- Maintain the integrity, cleanliness and documentation of all areas with respect to cGMP’s.
- Foster the growth of the “Zero Incident Mindset” culture by promoting safety and implementing programs.
- Manage training of all employees on departmental equipment and procedures.
- Interact with Maintenance Department for all Manufacturing maintenance requirements.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success include:
- Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 5 years of operations, production or supply chain experience; in lieu of a degree. a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 8 of years of operations, production or supply chain experience.
- Experience in a cGMP Production Environment highly preferred.
- Leadership experience required, supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint ). Visio and SAP experience preferred. Expertise in lean/or other continuous improvement tools preferred.
- Experience with Operational Excellence programs, Asset Effectiveness, Cost control highly desired
- Training and/or certification in Lean Six Sigma a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills and cross departmental team / project experience desired
- Foster the growth of the “Zero Incident Mindset” culture by promoting safety and implementing programs
- Travel 5%
