The BASF division of Care Chemicals offers a broad range of ingredients for hygiene, personal care, home care, industrial and institutional cleaning, and technical applications. We are the leading supplier for the cosmetics industry, as well as the detergents and cleaning agents industry, and support our customers worldwide with innovative and sustainable products, solutions, and concepts. The division’s high-performance product portfolio includes surfactants, emulsifiers, polymers, emollients, chelating agents, cosmetic active ingredients, pigments, and UV filters. Account Manager, Personal Care Solutions, Western Region (1702237) – Florham Park, NJ

***Region covered is primarily the Los Angeles area. The preferred candidate will live in the Los Angeles area.***

The primary responsibility of the Account Manager, Personal Care Solutions, is to manage a portfolio of regional and key accounts in North America to identify new projects, leading with a collaborative approach, and growing technologies sales of these at these accounts.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Utilizes account management skills to penetrate targeted customers and promote the Care Chemicals portfolio of solutions and products to meet customer needs.
- Interface with technical and commercial representatives of targeted customers.
- Implement agreed-upon actions to drive above-market growth by optimizing customer sales, generating, maintaining, and converting sales pipelines in an effective manner
- Demonstrate managerial courage by leading cross-functional teams to develop strategic approaches for key regional accounts that will show return above-market growth.
- Develop, implement, and execute a strategic account plan to drive growth with customers.
- Utilize and manage available resources to work with customers for business development.
- Engage in frequent face-to-face interactions with customers (technical and commercial) to promote our offers and beat out competition.
- Provide effective communication to Marketing, Technical, Supply Chain, and Product Management to achieve sales targets.
- Retain and grow business with existing customers.
- Determine customer needs (known and unmet) to offer the right solution from BASF and ahead of completion.
- Drive our business to exceed market growth rates.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Sales, Marketing, or related Science &Technology field.
- A minimum of 5 years of sales/marketing or personal care formulation experience with diverse customer relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of the Home & Personal Care markets preferred.
- Proven ability to identity business opportunities and develop appropriate strategies and relationships that deliver sales results within a diverse and challenging business climate.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement strategic account plans.
- Must have experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve sales growth.
- Possess superior communication, interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with key decision-makers at all levels of management, both internal and external contacts.
- Up to 25% overnight travel
