Financial Analyst (1801917) – Florham Park, NJ

Where the Chemistry Happens

The business unit Oilfield and Mining Solutions (G-EVG) within Performance Chemicals is seeking a professional like you who will be responsible for financial performance analyses associated with forecasting and planning, as well as actual results. The analyses can be operational or strategic in nature, and may include economic/ financial support from marketing, sales, and functional organizations. Effective communication will be an essential skillset for this role with stakeholders throughout North America and around the globe. In addition, you will propose methods to improve the business, and develop tools and vehicles to strengthen a value-based mindset for all levels within the business unit.

This role will additionally support the regional management for the larger business unit Performance Chemicals in all regards of monitoring actual performance against operating plans, forecasts and prior periods, and ensuring compliance with regional requirements.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success
- Leveraging your educational background and professional experience in a Finance or Accounting field, you will provide operational support to the business, comment on cost and margin trends, and compare actual results with budget and forecast for the regional Oilfield and Mining businesses.
- Your strong proficiency in financial analysis will be a valued asset as you consolidate monthly forecasting, reporting, and annual planning for Performance Chemicals in North America, and act as the single point-of-contact for regional corporate controlling.
- Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will support the creation and implementation of the operational plan, including frequent alignment with key business stakeholders, and manage forecasting and budgeting process/operational planning.
- Successfully engaging across the organization, you will prepare regional business updates for top management meetings, and aid with various request and initiatives, including serving as a team member on strategic projects.
