Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking an exceptional Area Security Manager. As an Area Security Manager, you will have responsibility for overseeing security operations located at multiple facilities, company-owned properties and assets in the northeast region. You will plan, direct, and oversee site security operations as well as serve as a resource to advise other sites on security procedures, special projects, events, and related activities. You will perform your role with limited supervision from the Regional Security Manager, but will partner closely with local site leadership.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Lead activities in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining progressive security practices and processes (in accordance with governing regulations and policies) to reduce risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure and liability in all areas of information, financial, assets, physical, personal, and reputation risk.
- Develop networks internally and externally throughout all functions and levels to influence and drive security initiatives.
- Lead briefings to responsible senior leadership on the status of security issues and emerging threats on an on-going basis.
- Develop budgets and prepare capital expense and POM projects for review and approval.
- Participate in crisis management planning and training efforts; lead on-the-scene crisis response in the event of a significant incident.
- Facilitate, conduct, or oversee investigations of security-related incidents and allegations in coordination with appropriate functions (e.g., Compliance, HR, and Corporate Audit).
- Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant federal and local regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines to ensure the area’s or site’s compliance with requirements.
- Lead a staff of proprietary security personnel and contracted guards and manage vendor relationship to ensure maximum performance.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study OR equivalent military or law enforcement training, combined with at least 5 years of security related experience required.
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is required. Prior experience in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with MTSA regulations, HM232, Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards, or similar regulatory protocols desired.
- Experience in managing and conducting investigations, including witness interviews and evidence collection.
- Knowledge of access control, CCTV, and other security countermeasures preferred.
- Familiarity with assessing, developing, and implementing high-level security, threat assessment, and crisis management plans.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to deal effectively with senior level management and to influence others.
- Capable of creating and maintaining an external network with industry peers, security vendors, law enforcement, and other agencies.
- Proven team player with the ability to lead teams and work well with others.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and law enforcement structures.
- Proven professional approach including high standards relating to personal integrity and credibility, as well as sound judgment and discretion.
- Ability to engage peers and key partners to coordinate security projects while understanding and working with competing priorities and objectives.
