The position is responsible for acquiring business opportunities at new and existing customers in the Animal Nutrition business in North America to drive organic growth. In addition, the successful candidate will understand market trends and customer needs and apply this knowledge to key customer targets. He/she would display a strong market and consumer focus and will translate into clear business strategies.

Senior Technical Sales Representative – Animal Nutrition, Virtual Office (1701643)

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Enthusiastically build meaningful relationships at multiple levels within the customer’s organization.
- Maintain existing customer accounts and ensure satisfaction with BASF’s products and services.
- Drive “hunting” efforts to support organic growth of the Animal Nutrition business segment.
- Identify, negotiate, and close new opportunities for our product portfolio at both existing and new accounts within the dedicated sales region.
- Create and execute account-specific strategic plans and implement customer segmentation and business rules.
- Monitor sales budgets and provide accurate business forecasts.
- Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, account plans, call reports, monthly updates, lead documentation, and competitive intelligence data collection.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Animal Nutrition or related science. (Master’s degree a plus)
- Minimum 5 years’ prior relevant professional experience in Sales or equivalent qualification, preferably in the poultry industry.
- Knowledge of business process systems, e.g., analytical marketing and sales execution processes; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong account management skills, capable of cultivating an extensive network of contacts at key/major accounts.
- Team-oriented, be able to provide leadership in handling difficult situations and solving problems effectively.
- Clear and effective communications skills and able to present and sell with a concentration on value pricing.
- Greater than 50% travel, primarily across the U.S.
