Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking an Asset Effectiveness (AE) Engineer to function at of our Freeport, TX site.

Asset Effectiveness Engineer (1705040) – Freeport, TX

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Define and manage permitted downtime (planned and unplanned) as measured by AE.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze plant-relevant Asset Effectiveness KPIs and propose improvements and populate the Asset Effectiveness spreadsheet, classify, and explain losses.
- Lead AE improvements through identification of lost availability and work closely with Area Mechanical, I&E Maintenance, Technology Specialists, and Central Reliability engineers to achieve targets.
- Facilitate AE review meetings and determine the needs for further analysis. Maintain the documentation of these meetings. Follow-up on the implementation of reliability-driven improvement efforts
- Work with Asset Manager to manage plant Maintenance costs, including budgeting and forecasting. In addition, collaborate with Asset Manager to minimize total cost of ownership for all plant physical assets, considering asset replacement, business priorities, and capital expenditures
- Help to define and promote Autonomous Maintenance and provide/coordinate appropriate levels of training.
- Provide input for new installations to all physical plant assets, including DCS, considering total cost of ownership
- Assist Asset Manager with implementation of Capital Strategy, as well as development of plant and equipment capital strategy, including:
- Strategies for equipment life cycle analysis.
- Strategies for asset replacement.
- Support the reporting, status tracking, and prioritization of capital projects within the business group and across functions
- Assist Asset Manager to define and manage the capital budget and update the business budget and forecast.
- Develop Critical Equipment list.
- Lead global and regional benchmarking analysis.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a maintenance engineering organization or project management organization.
- SAP knowledge preferred.
- Experience with Power BI software is desired.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance work flow processes is a plus.
- Working understanding of maintenance improvement processes.
