Job Description- External

This position will report to the Site Controller This position will be responsible for leading activities at the site that will enhance the employee experience with BASF. A more complete list of responsibilities is detailed in the Principal Responsibilities section.

Principal Responsibilities – Four to eight brief statements indicating what is done (Action), how it is done (Method or Means) and why (End Result). (Use additional sheet of paper if necessary.)

1. Manage “Day One” for new hires. Non-executive onboarding. Provide an excellent employee experience beginning with the first day of work at BASF.
2. Site Time and Attendance coordinator - Duties include coordination and support for payroll and the timekeepers as well as employee SAP Time training, garnishments, deductions, pay rule application, carryover and borrowing vacation process management, etc. not handled by the BASF Payroll COE. Partner with Payroll to ensure corrections/updates for employees are submitted and processed.
3. Management of the summer Intern program for PDP’s, Operators, and Instrumentation Interns. Provide a seamless transition for college level interns to work at BASF during the Summer. Enlist support of the various ERGs to plan events and onboarding.
4. Management of the site duties related to I-9 verifications. Use the e-Verify system to ensure 100% compliance with U.S. employment law.
5. Management of the Freeport Retiree List and Site birthday/anniversary lists. Use any system available to maintain the list of addresses of retirees and provide information on birthdays and anniversaries when required.
6. Oversight of the Progression Tech Reward system. Provide guidance to managers who are not familiar with the process of pay increases corresponding to completion of training Packets. Provide guidance to managers who will award pay adders consistent with the BASF SITE PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROCEDURE, TRN-ADM-01.
7. Site Engagement Contact: Act as the Point-of-Contact for distribution of corporate materials such as Open Enrollment posters. Coordinate site logistics for meetings and events as required by reserving rooms, assigning visitor’s badges, catering, providing driving directions, coordinating room set-up, etc. Coordinate charitable events and employee relations activities.
8. Ordering flowers for appropriate occasions (deaths of employee or employee’s immediate family member, retirees, etc.).

Qualifications External-


1. A high school diploma or GED with five (5+) years of relevant manufacturing experience is required.
2. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
4. Motivated individual with highly developed organizational, interpersonal, and follow up skills.


5. BS Degree in Business, Communication or related discipline with two (2+) years of relevant manufacturing experience.
6. Highly proficient in MS (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
7. Ability to work with all levels within the organization
8. Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
9. Must be a proactive self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills;
10. Strong oral and communication skills

Ability to work independently with minimal direction
