Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you drive continuous technology innovation and achieve strategic business needs through process safety, capital project support, process optimization and automation in our manufacturing facility. You will serve as a technical specialist and resource for the daily production units in troubleshooting and optimizing processes within the site utilities operation. You will also work as manufacturing representative for capital projects providing design and input through project scope, justification and timing for capital projects as well as detailed design, construction, commissioning and start up. You will collaborate with Project Managers to implement new projects and implement improvements in the first 6 months and will work in partnership with Project Managers to implement the processes.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success
- Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering discipline preferably Chemical Engineering, as well as your extensive professional experience as a subject matter expert in process engineering concepts and their applications you will be able to lead continuous technology innovation through identification, evaluation, development, prioritization and implementation of plant improvement ideas in EBIT improvement through increased production or reduced costs (fixed and variable)
- Your commitment to EHS compliance and your knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ and other applicable codes and regulations and standards will assure 100% compliance of air and water permit limits on wastewater effluent system, potable water, boiler and Cogen emissions as well as review compliance data and take corrective measures.
- Your detailed knowledge of PSM/RMP covered processes and Risk Management Plans will ensure coordination, completion and documentation of PSM, PHAs, PSSRs, MOCs in coordination with global technology groups and global safety.
- As you monitor and make recommendations for improving Utility Distribution systems, wastewater, boiler, Cogen, Steam system, D.I. water system, Firewater and potable water, you will be able to provide your expertise in continuous improvement and plant optimization with proven ability in assuring operational discipline.
- Your thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design will enable you to drive reliability
- Your proven safety culture and leadership and the ability to continuously improve safety performance will allow you to participate in department safety programs as well as conduct housekeeping inspections and maintain a clean and safe working area.

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
