We are seeking an Administrative Associate, Amines, to join our team. The Chemical Intermediates group offers a comprehensive portfolio of chemical processes and innovative specialties. With our finished products and chemical intermediates, we contribute to the success of our customers worldwide. Customers both external and internal to BASF.

The Chemical Intermediates group has an opportunity for an Administrative Associate for Amines technology in our Geismar, LA location.

Administrative Associate, Amines (1701855) – Geismar, LA

You will provide administrative support associated with the day to day operations within the Specialty Amines and CIN Shipping areas. The primary focus of the Administrative Associate is to canvass overtime. The Administrative Associate serves as our Webtop administrator including overdue tracking for procedure updates and produces training manuals for new operator training.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Compile lists of daily of overtime needs and determine canvassing lists. Contact Operators as needed, and completes manning rosters for future shifts
- Collect and maintain vacation requests and Shift Swaps with Operators
- Assist staff with publishing controlled documents through workflows, ensuring overdue procedures are addressed
- Create, organize and maintain critical information using MS Office Tools. Includes gathering information from various sources, developing formats for tracking purposes and presenting information.
- Track the Operators’ last day work to ensure Operators maintain qualified in all their jobs
- Arranging meetings, reserving conference rooms, ordering food and supplies for meetings, and booking travel arrangements
- Maintain and order office supplies and uniforms
- Work with the understanding of a high degree of confidentiality
- Perform and follow-up in various projects and administrative functions for the department requiring both specific and general administrative knowledge
- SAP Payroll processing for Amines department
- Prepare training manuals for new Operator training classes. Update procedures from previous trainings as directed by the Learning Development Coordinator, then prepare books for classroom and field training
- Miscellaneous administrative tasks as required; filing, faxing, photocopying, and various processing -- such as expense reporting, Pro Card account reconciliations and purchasing activities for departmental needs.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- High School Graduate or GED
- Minimum 8 years' administrative experience, such as data entry or managing data-driven report processes
- Expert proficiency with computer skills (MS Office Suite and Webtop)
- Planning, coordinating and hosting events
- Ability to multitask and manage details of different processes efficiently
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Administrative experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience with canvassing overtime is preferred
- SAP experience preferred
