Where the Chemistry Happens…

Under the direction of the Quality System Group in the Analytical Services Department which provides support services to operating clusters to comply with ISO-9001 requirements, the Analytical Services Data Administrator will be responsible for bringing innovative solutions to the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), ASPEN IP21 based (process and data dashboards and charting), and SAP as it pertains to the management of process and/or quality.

Analytical Services Data Administrator (1701887)

This position is part of the Analytical Services Department. The Data Administrator position will involve writing code within the LIMS system to further optimize information flow as well as introduce new processes.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Partner with stakeholders such as operation units, laboratories, and the continuous improvement team to evaluate, develop, and support dashboard creation using ASPEN IP21 modules such as Process Explorer in conjunction with R, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
- Partner with Laboratory Team Leaders at the Geismar site to identify needs of the new LIMS to further strengthen the system and develop new solutions for processes that are still needed.
- Ensure close ties to Labware (new LIMS provider) are maintained.
- Support SAP quality module to ensure data interface processes are working properly and help troubleshoot when not working properly (e.g., Certification of Analysis not being generated).
- Drive implementation, monitor effectiveness, and take necessary actions to meet the systems' objectives.
- Work with all partners to create proper LIMS and ASPEN structures that will allow the team to track performance properly (KPls / Metrics).
- Serve as the lead for selected, key system projects.
- Develop and implement business intelligence solutions in Tableau and other applicable software
- Compile ad-hoc data and report requests
- Troubleshoot and modify LIMS by entering the system and modifying/creating code to meet customer(s) requirements

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline required combined with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience, OR a High School Diploma/Equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of experience in business analytics in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with LIMS, ASPEN IP21, R, and other quality-related systems such as Documentum and SAP NCM required.
- Familiarity with creating dashboards in data analysis software such as Tableau required.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Excel and MS Access).
- Knowledge of SPC/SQC is a plus.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and business intelligence.
