Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking an Asset Effectiveness Engineer for the Utilities department in our Geismar, LA location.

This position leads Asset Effectiveness improvements to maximize profitability as part of Strategic Production. This involves developing, analyzing and maintaining plant relevant Asset Effectiveness Key Performance Indicators, identifying and managing planned and unplanned downtime strategies and driving reliability improvements. This role facilitates the development of Asset Management Plans, including capital and maintenance strategies, optimization of Asset Effectiveness, and ensuring optimal life cycle costs to achieve the business objectives.

Asset Effectiveness Engineer (1701943) – Geismar, LA

Formula for Success: You Will…

Lead Asset Effectiveness Improvements
- Collect and analyze Asset Effectiveness Data.
- Identify lost availability and poor reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of Technologists, Production, Reliability, and Maintenance colleagues to achieve targets.
- Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting to production units as required during key events (e.g., turnarounds, production problems, audits).

Asset Management Plan Owner
- Lead yearly revalidation of site Production data with Technology teams.
- Manage yearly revalidation of Asset Management plan in conjunction with Operational Planning.

Capital Project Process Facilitator
- Serve as primary liaison to Stores, Logistics, Analytical Services, and Security for charter and business case development, and prioritization of activities.
- Be responsible for developing business case to support all capital projects coming through Utilities/XA. This includes providing input for new installations with consideration of total cost of ownership and business priorities.

Bad Actor Program Owner
- Share accountability with cross-functional team to identify, analyze, develop action plans, and drive action item completion on both Operational and Equipment Bad Actors.

Asset Compliance Plan Facilitator/Owner
- Develop and maintain equipment criticality assessments.
- Drive equipment strategy progress and use for capital and maintenance plan inputs.
- Ensure compliance of the assets with internal and external rules and regulations (e.g. SIS, mechanical integrity, inspections) via adherence to scheduling requirements or extension approval.

Outage Strategy Owner
- Define and manage down time strategy (planned and unplanned) with integration of asset effectiveness data, business priorities, and asset compliance plan.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline required.
- A minimum of 6 years of production and/or maintenance experience in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment.

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
