Asset Reliability Engineer-Geismar (1801844)

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to lead the development of reliability strategies for key equipment including gathering of historical performance and data, facilitating FMEAs, developing maintenance plans including PMs and use of PdM tools, ensuring availability of critical spares as well as implementation of operator care elements and initiation of improvement projects. You will lead Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA’s) and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems. You will participate in the Bad Actor program and create action plans for improving reliability as well as evaluate updated technologies and alternatives for equipment repair, seeking cost and delivery advantages. You will also support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design and construction project in accordance with plant design requirements, BASF standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success
- Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering discipline preferably Mechanical Engineering, as well as your extensive professional experience as a subject matter expert in equipment reliability within a manufacturing environment, you will identify improvement opportunities and propose and implement sustainable solutions for rotating and fixed mechanical equipment.
- Your solid understanding of maintenance and reliability work and processes with a strong background in equipment troubleshooting, including root cause failure analysis will allow you to implement improvement efforts.
- Your experience with PdM tools (vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, thermography, etc.) will enable you to evaluate equipment condition and improvement.
- Your strong communications skills will be a valued asset as you provide facts and figures to collaborate and negotiate with Engineers, Maintenance and Operations Personnel to provide design review, repair and maintenance support, including optimization of predictive/preventative maintenance activities.
- Your thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design will enable you to drive reliability

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
