This position is responsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining a workable multi‐craft schedule to balance work requirements, production priorities, and maintenance resource within an area for Routine, Turnaround, and Outage work. It ensures the effective deployment of all crafts, equipment, and outside resources required to complete a job. This position supports the safe, quality, and cost-effective execution of maintenance work.

Maintenance Scheduler (1705416) – Geismar, LA

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Facilitate weekly scheduling with Production and Maintenance for resource balancing to ensure job schedules meet the timing requirements of production.
- Develop detailed weekly schedule for all maintenance crafts, including central support crafts. Develop 2- to 3-week look-ahead schedules.
- Validate area crafts, central support crafts, equipment, and outside resources/services availability.
- Provide input into staffing changes that may be necessary based on historical trends and forecasts, including shutdowns, outages, and turnarounds.
- Interface with Turnaround and Capital Project Teams to ensure coordination, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Collect data for daily and weekly schedule compliance, schedule breakers, and overtime, and monitor results to make recommendations to for continuous improvements.
- Validate daily schedule (from weekly schedule) by conducting afternoon check-ins with production and others. Determine the status of current day’s work and confirmation of next day activities.
- Work with the Maintenance Gatekeepers to handle schedule breakers based on process needs and the current business environment.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Associate’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in petrochemical maintenance and/or operations; OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 10 years of experience in chemical/petrochemical maintenance and/or operations.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems and equipment, planning, and scheduling preferred.
- Understanding of multiple crafts (e.g., mechanical, I/E, scaffolding, rigging, excavation) is a plus.
- Possess a good working knowledge of all crafts and a solid understanding of maintenance work processes.
- Deal effectively with the unknown and unexpected, and possess the ability to handle non-routine and emergency activities, such as schedule breakers, plant shutdowns, start-up, and commissioning.
- Ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures along with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate. Strong interpersonal skills are required in this position.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.

This position requires the incumbent to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
