Material Management Specialist - 1802666

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are looking for a candidate like you to support our capital investment portfolio for the Geismar, LA, site. If you’re a detail-oriented material manager or expeditor who can build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization, think strategically to mitigate risks, solve problems, and increase value, we want you on our team!

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success
- You will support all aspects of material and service procurement for Site Engineering capital projects at the Geismar site, to include requisitioning, expediting, and on-site material tracking.
- You will collaborate with Construction, Maintenance, Turnaround Management, Procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent material and service availability for field installation efforts.
- You will be the primary liaison with vendors and contractors for purchase order generation and amendment, expediting, and delivery coordination.
- You will identify inefficiencies in the procurement and material management process and recommend solutions, thereby reducing order cycle times and providing more flexibility to construction scheduling.
- You will work closely with project controls (cost and schedule) personnel to accurately forecast project milestones, annual spending, and final cost.
- You will contribute to site, regional, and global initiatives focused on improving capital project execution.
- Your deep commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace will be critical as you ensure compliance with all BASF policies, procedures, and technical standards.

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
