Mechanical Maintenance Engineer II (1801131) – Geismar, LA

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Provide mechanical maintenance engineering expertise to an assigned area of the site.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel and providing services related to design review, repair, and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses, troubleshooting of problems, and monitoring PM and PdM programs.
- Ensure a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachler’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in petrochemical maintenance and/or reliability.
- Broad-based, hands-on knowledge and experience with various types of mechanical equipment.
- Basic understanding of maintenance and reliability work processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures, along with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate. Strong interpersonal skills are required in this position.
- Background in equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- General knowledge of mechanical equipment design and understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices, and compressors of various design.
- Knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance.
- Background in optimization of equipment PM activities and strategies.
- General knowledge of relief device preventative maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with vibration analysis and equipment lubrication programs.
- General knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Understanding of API and ASME codes preferred.
