Formula for Success:

Chemical Production Operators in Geismar are responsible for conducting the daily activities related to the manufacturing operations of the chemical facility.

Operator responsibility and accountability includes, but is not limited to:
• Working within the scope of procedures and instructions to manufacture chemical products by operating processes and equipment, primarily via DCS and PLC systems
• Facilitate the transfer of raw materials and finished products to and from vessels including, railway cars, tank trucks, totes and drums
• Ensures data collection / documentation of the process, interprets results and responds with appropriate adjustments
• Assists with the process and equipment troubleshooting process.
• Ensures the proper handling of waste streams to comply with corporate, local, state and federal regulations
• Participates in and complies with all training and development activities.
• Performs emergency response activities, as required
• Acts in a manner that ensures that all BASF standards are maintained in the areas of safety, environmental, quality manufacturing and individual and team performance

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma and ability to perform mathematical calculations and score a passing grade on a mechanical aptitude test
• Possess a valid driver's license
• This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Preferred Qualifications:
• PTEC or another post-secondary technical program preferred.
• Previous chemical operation experience preferred.
