Description
Chemical Production Operators are responsible for conducting the daily activities related to the manufacturing operations of the chemical facility.

Operator responsibility and accountability includes, but is not limited to:

• Working within the scope of procedures and instructions to manufacture chemical products by operating processes and equipment, primarily via DCS and PLC systems.

• Facilitate the transfer of raw materials and finished products to and from vessels including, railway cars, tank trucks, totes and drums.

• Ensures data collection / documentation of the process, interprets results and responds with appropriate adjustments.

• Assists with the process and equipment troubleshooting process.

• Ensures the proper handling of waste streams to comply with corporate, local, state and federal regulations.

• Participates in and complies with all training and development activities. • Performs emergency response activities, as required.

• Acts in a manner that ensures that all BASF standards are maintained in the areas of safety, environmental, quality manufacturing and individual and team performance.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years of age

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Possess a valid driver's license

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and score a minimum of 80% proficiency on a mechanical aptitude test

• PTEC or other post-secondary technical program preferred

• Previous chemical operation experience preferred

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
