This is where you come in.

This position will provide process engineering support to NA Manufacturing sites in Process Safety.

Process Engineer/Process Safety Support Specialist (1704018) – Geismar, LA

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Support the development and implementation of Process Safety programs for small and medium BASF sites in North America.
- Develop and validate Pressure Relief Systems Design calculations.
- Coordinate and review Pressure Relief Systems design calculations executed by outside contractor engineers.
- Facilitate and lead Process Hazard Analysis.
- Conduct Process Safety Audits, or other forms of Gap Analysis, to assess Process Safety Programs at various BASF sites in North America.
- Provide training to Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance personnel in Pressure Relief Systems Operations and Design
- Develop and implement Process Safety Concepts.
- Support development of new Standards or Best Practices in Process Safety.
- Support sites in process optimization studies including process simulation modeling.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Chemical Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of experience as a process engineer, operations engineer, or process safety engineer.
- Experience in leading or facilitating Process Hazard Analysis
- A background in conducting Process Safety audit is preferred.
- Knowledge of PSM/ RMP requirements.
- Familiarity with Codes, standards, and RAGAGEPs in Process Safety.
- Technical knowledge in the fundamentals of unit operations design, process simulation modeling, and pressure relief systems design.

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
