The Chemical Monomers group has an opportunity for a Production Director to join our BASF team at Geismar, LA.

Production Director – Aniline MDI Value Chain (1702941)

Formula for Success:

As the Production Director for the BASF Geismar, Louisiana site that manufactures Aniline and MDI for the Chemical Monomers Division, you will provide leadership, direction, and focus for all manufacturing activities within the value chain and hold additional responsibility for the distribution of the site Caustic and wet HCL supplies. The Production Director interacts with various business and support organizations across BASF globally in fulfilling the mission of the business and site. This includes leadership for a broad range of activities including: building strong teams, developing and empowering talent throughout the organization, coaching, influencing, and guiding others, and ensuring that all processes and activities comply with BASF policies, regulations and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship.

You Will…
- Lead the Aniline MDI value chain to excellence in EHS performance, manufacturing capability and capital execution, while meeting customer expectations in quality, service, and delivery, partnering with Asset Effectiveness, Maintenance, Technology, Project Engineering, Controlling, Human Resources, EH&S Management, and Planning
- Drive a culture where continuous improvement, product innovation, breakthrough performance, and an enjoyable work environment are expectations of all team members.
- Identify and manage all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, quality, cost, equipment optimization and reliability.
- Develop site operational strategy and objectives, implement budget, objectives, personnel plans, inventory management, and capital plans that align with the strategic objectives of the CM Business.
- Develop and implement manufacturing and asset strategies to ensure assets are aligned with business strategies, ensuring technology transfers are issue-free, products are available, and asset utilization is maximized
- Ensure the right information is communicated in the right way to CM Leadership by modeling direct communications, best practice sharing, and knowledge transfer with our Global CM Technology Team(CMT), Global CM Strategy Team (CMS), and the Wyandotte Marketing group via the CMM Product Manager
