Site Maintenance Director (1801437) – Geismar, LA

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as the technical and managerial leader for all Maintenance activities for the site, including the Maintenance Execution Teams (work processes, mechanical, instrument, and electrical), the Reliability Teams, Central Mechanical, and I&E services. You will execute routine maintenance spending of $60M to $70M per year and Turnaround/Outage spending of $40M to $50M in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. In addition, you will be accountable for the work and performance of up to 500 BASF and Contract employees. You will maintain the strategic, long-term vision on maintenance and reliability performance, maintenance process improvements, establishing reliability focus throughout the site, and ensuring a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.

Formula for Success
- Leveraging your educational background in a Chemistry or Engineering discipline, as well as your extensive professional experience as a leader/supervisor within a manufacturing environment, you will provide direction to the site’s Maintenance Department and ensure work execution, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- As a role model, you will display a strong commitment to continuous improvement by driving the use of LEAN Manufacturing tools to identify and eliminate waste.
- Successfully engaging across the business, you will serve as a technical/work execution consultant for other sites, as well as regional and global teams, to provide subject matter expertise on maintenance execution, reliability, and work process-related topics.
- Your strong communications skills will be a valued asset as you inspire others to take accountability for an innovation pipeline by championing new and creative approaches.
- Driving critical decision-making for the organization, you will lead development and implementation of the maintenance execution strategy and carry out the reliability strategies for each plant on site.
- You will be relied on to serve as BASF’s site representative to Professional Maintenance Organizations, as well as various local councils.
- You will be entrusted with applying all safety rules by assuring Maintenance personnel are aware of and employing safe working practices by promoting safety programs and behaviors.
