We are seeking a Technology Manager, Amines, to join our team. The Chemical Intermediates group offers a comprehensive portfolio of chemical processes and innovative specialties. With our finished products and chemical intermediates, we contribute to the success of our customers worldwide. Customers both external and internal to BASF.

The Chemical Intermediates group has an opportunity for a Technology Manager for Amines technology in our Geismar, LA location.

Technology Manager, Amines (1700887) – Geismar, LA

You will lead and manage the Technology Team for the Amines department. This is a strategic position focused on the identification and implementation of projects that support and enable the manufacturing team, to achieve the overall business goals with respect to manufacturing safely, effectively and at the lowest cost.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Mentor and coach of the technology team, including overseeing of the Project Manufacturing Representatives as they lead and support projects
- Coordinate of overall capital plan and execution with the technology team and project/capital teams ensuring resource availability for the successful completion of projects
- Support of key business and site growth activities
- Perform as Leader for Process Optimization and technology innovation through identification, evaluation, development, prioritization, and implementation of plant improvement ideas using continuous improvement methodologies
- Lead Management of Process Safety Systems and Documentation (Process Descriptions, Stature, etc.)
- Promote contact/interaction between NAFTA and Global resources for assigned manufacturing processes
- Facilitate the data collection and evaluation for benchmarking activities as required

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or another related technical discipline required MBA or MS in related engineering or chemistry field preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years chemical manufacturing experience and minimum 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Experience in driving changes and process improvements using Continuous Improvement methodologies & tools, such as LEAN and Six Sigma, is strongly preferred.
- Multi-technology, Multi-site, or overseas experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of Process Safety Management and BASF Safety program implementation systems and documentation is required.
- Prior experience as a Project Manager/Engineer or Manufacturing Representative required.
- Familiarity with automation concepts such as instrumentation, DCS, and safety instrumented systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change.
- Proven record of developing creative solutions to new problems, or continuously improving systems and processes.
- Interpersonal skills to develop team members and inspire an atmosphere of collaboration and innovation.
