Where the Chemistry Happens…

Environmental Technician – 1800856 – Gordon, GA

• Travel to multiple water discharge points across BASF Middle Georgia properties and check discharge locations for:
pH
Turbidity
Flow
Temperature
Metals
Others
• Collect routine and non-routine water samples as appropriate and store in proper containment for shipping to testing facilities or for in-house testing requirements
• Samples must be collected according to applicable environmental regulatory permit requirements
• Test samples as required and submit other remaining samples to testing laboratories
• Enter testing results in appropriate databases and complete state mandated reporting requirements
• Interpret analytical laboratory results and take actions as appropriate
• Maintain and operate all required laboratory equipment
• Some overtime and weekend may be required
• Ability to work outside and at times alone collecting water samples from various discharge points across Middle Georgia

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• 1 year experience with MS Office

• 1 year experience with operation and maintenance of sampling and testing equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental sciences or related fields.

• Experience in water sampling and testing techniques desired. Specifically, related to pH, turbidity, flow, metals, etc. sampling and testing
