Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Services and Pricing Analyst to join our team. As a member of the Commercial Analysis & Administrative team, you will have responsibility for a wide variety of administrative and customer-facing duties in support of the BASF marketing, invoicing, payment, collection, and monthly closing of multi-million dollar transactions associated with the purchase and selling of materials and finished products for the Cracker Products business in North America.

Senior Commercial Services and Pricing Analyst (1700993)

You will manage pricing analysis and FRC (Financial Reporting Compliance) of sales processes spanning all Petrochemicals businesses in North America. Due to the unique requirements of the Cracker Products business, your responsibilities will include some delegated duties typically performed within marketing, procurement, and supply chain functions.

Formula for Success: You Will...
- Own the invoicing process (sales and purchases) for the Cracker Products business. Interface as required with Accounts Payable, vendors, and customers to see that timely payments are made. This is a critical function in Petrochemicals due to the large value of invoices (multi-million dollars) and short payment terms. Must prepare sales files for Customer Care to record sales, ensure accuracy of price, fees, and purchase order information.
- Manage and execute month-end sales and consumption closing process. Responsible for entering purchase orders into SAP, record ethylene consumption of transfers, record inventory movements in SAP. Must be able to provide estimates of month-end sales and consumption. Investigate and troubleshoot inventory imbalances. Must meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Set up and maintain customer data in SAP, with interface to customer to ensure timely and accurate information. Manage customer agreements. Follow up with customers, answer questions, validate sales price and volume. Utilize “Process Director” function in SAP to track invoices. Participate in customer meetings and activities to foster and maintain customer relationship.
- Manage the Petrochemicals FRC (Financial Reporting Controls) for sales processes. Review key controls, determines if controls are adequate, conducts annual self-audit. Coordinate compliance issues with Controlling and Marketing personnel across the strategic business units.
- Manage price discrepancies for all strategic business units of Petrochemicals. Coordinate resolution with sales/marketing. Participate in monthly review meetings.
- Manage butadiene rail car exchanges. Assist in the rail car demand planning process, update price agreements monthly, receive and record bills of lading. Coordinate with supplier to agree on billing.
- Manage and execute bi-monthly cracker billing process. Verify inventory and create invoices for actual and estimated billings. Prepare spot deal invoices.
- Other: Oversee smaller invoices prepared by supply chain personnel for exchange, delivery, and storage fees. Record rail demurrage for Ethylene Oxide (primarily). Review sample reports and identify discrepancies.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related business administration disciplines, with a minimum 5+ years of experience in marketing, supply chain, controlling, or procurement.
- Must be proficient in multiple modules of SAP or a similar enterprise software.
- Have working knowledge of spreadsheets.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential attributes for success
- Must have good communication skills and able to establish and maintain good relationships with customers as an important point of contact with BASF.

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
