We are seeking a professional like you who will serve as the Lean Six Sigma Specialist in our Houston, TX facility. This position focuses on developing and implementing standards for competency development in Continuous Improvement following 10/70/20 BASF people development framework based on 10% learning from instructions, 70% learning from doing and application, and 20% from mentoring and coaching.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Deliver Lean and Six Sigma training for technical and business functions at basic, Green and Black Belt levels.
- Provide project coaching and promotion of knowledge sharing.
- Develop workshop standards, and lead and facilitate workshop and projects.
- Serve as a member of the group for implementation of Continuous Improvement process at North American Manufacturing Sites in support of the NA 2025 strategy: Customers First and Winning Together.
- Focus on identifying areas for improvement, and provide internal/external customers with expertise and leadership to implement the improvements.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a technical and/or transactional environment
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in implementing Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, and Shainin.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated experience regarding improvement techniques. Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and application of Continuous Improvement methods and tools associated with Lean, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma methodologies and Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tools.
- Certified Master Black Belt level by recognized associations like ASQ.
- Proven experience in teaching and applying Black Belt level of Lean and Six Sigma in technical and business environment.
- Prior experience working in a service recharge organization preferred.
- Broad knowledge of chemical unit operations, process, and mechanical equipment. instrumentation – familiar with plant operations, laboratory, and project management.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills to work with indirect personnel – ability to work in a “virtual” team environment.
- High level of coordination and negotiations skills and ability to react and lead in a changing environment.
- Effective presentation and communication skills including ability to develop and articulate a strategy and vision within the organization as well as to client leadership organizations.
- Strong customer relationship, strategic thinking, conflict management, innovative thinking entrepreneurialism, financial acumen, and coaching and development skills.
- Must possess a high level of learning agility to deal with complexity, change management, the delivery of results, and the management of sensitive political and people-related topics.
