We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team and lead large or complex continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodology to achieve site annual improvement opportunities and key activities. The position reports to the Operational Excellence \ Technology Manager Americas – CCE Huntsville, AL.

You will develop and implement processes, tools, and methodologies for the continuous improvement of the Huntsville site. The main focus of this job is to achieve site goals in the areas of productivity and quality improvements, nonconformance elimination, customer satisfaction and cost reduction through the use of continuous improvement tools including Lean and Six Sigma. Additional responsibility includes the facilitation of site-wide visual management process.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...
- BS Degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering or related fields and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering and quality systems.
- Proven skills for leading Six Sigma initiatives and other continuous improvement efforts such as Lean and Kaizen to support business objectives in all functional areas required.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and opportunities in the related areas and define, structure, plan, and implement improvement projects to satisfy site, business group, and corporate objectives.
- Experience working with Minitab, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Must possess very good organization skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong oral and technical writing communication skills, be open-minded and innovative. Thorough knowledge of statistical process control, statistical analysis, and quality improvement processes/tools and have the ability to build relationships with all levels in the organization.
- Must have strong leadership ability with demonstrated success leading others by influence.

- Ideally possess Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience (supervision of one direct report professional).
- SAP experience preferred
- Industrial lab experience, a plus
- Experience in batch chemical processes preferred
