Where the Chemistry Happens…

In this role, you will serve as the primary interface with Sales, Marketing, & Supply Chain and will maintain, analyze, and provide an accurate forecast. In addition, you will maintain the forecast segmentation and perform statistical analyses. You will work closely with the Commercial team and Supply Chain to support adherence to the agreed-upon strategy and achievement of supply reliability and inventory targets. You will maintain and enhance the integrity of APO Demand Planning Systems, along with the continuous improvement of the planning processes. This role requires a highly-seasoned expert that can guide the organization and foster best practices such as statistical modeling, demand validation, and continuous improvement.

Demand Planner (1800062) – Huntsville, AL

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Serve as process owner of SAP planning functions, including APO modules, and lead the integration of advancements/improvements in SAP planning systems.
- Manage monthly customer and product forecasts incorporating Sales and Marketing information, concentrating on both short- and long-term planning intervals.
- Lead Demand Validation meetings with site and senior leadership, and participate/ lead the overall Sales and Operational Planning process.
- Prepare and analyze performance reports including forecast accuracy, maintenance/management of the APO Demand Planning Systems steering tables, ABCXYZ classification analysis, and the selection and use of statistical models for forecast development using historical sales trends.
- Act as a key player in the annual sales budget development process with Sales, Marketing and Finance, including generation of future catalyst demand process in SAP.
- Participate in customer interaction with key customers and canners to improve forecast accuracy and collaboration on systematic processes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to understand demand forecast drivers, align forecast with sales plans, review financial targets, and analyze customer demand drivers.
- Work closely with Supply Chain Operations Manager, Master Schedulers, and Sales to ensure accuracy of the demand in SAP, including management of the phase-in/phase-out demand process.
- Participate in Regional and/or Global Demand Planning Community meetings for knowledge exchange regarding new forecasting tools, best practices, insights, training, and process improvements.
- Liaise with Regional Demand Planning Business Application Managers/demand planners to ensure consistency and continuous improvement in-demand planning, and support of S&OP governance team.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, focusing on in demand analysis, forecasting, or planning.
- Proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods with an understanding of financial and operational impacts
- Excellent organizational, communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills for global collaboration, and effective interaction with all teams and levels of business affecting the forecasting process
- Strong working knowledge of SAP R3, SAP APO, and Supply Chain Management concepts such as MRP, demand planning, and forecasting processes
- Strong querying/database/Excel skills required.
- APICS CPIM, APICS CSCP, or IBF certification is preferred.
