Where the Chemistry Happens…

At the BASF Huntsville Site, we make the chemistry and technology used in vehicle catalytic convertors and other environmental products. As part of our team, employees help us conceive, design, implement and validate new equipment, technologies and processes to help make our world's environment cleaner. Our Maintenance Department plays a vital role in the success of our plant. This position contributes by providing shift maintenance leadership in support of the maintenance and production shift objectives while performing regular technical duties.

Maintenance Supervisor (1800245) - Huntsville, AL

Principal Responsibilities
- Supervising Mechanical and I/E Technicians
- Be a safety champion for the group. Lead by example and hold others to the highest safety standards by ensuring their compliance in all regards.
- Be an advocate for environmental standards compliance. Lead by example and hold others to the highest standards by ensuring their compliance in all regards.
- Create and administer annual performance reviews for your maintenance technician
- Manage conflict to resolution utilizing HR guidelines and principles.
- Provide routine equipment updates and or emergency repairs communication to the maint mgt.
- Manage equipment maintenance ensuring parts availability and technician scheduling to accommodate.
- Accountable for thorough daily maint shift notes.
- Ensure SAP work history is completed for each WO.
- Ensure all parts and technician’s time is entered on all pertinent WOs.
- Collaborate with planners and schedulers to ensure timely equipment maintenance.
- Mentor maint technicians to improve skills and techniques.
- Attend DST meetings
- Work alongside maintenance technicians to ensure work completion.
- Create AIM reports when appropriate
- Create MOC when appropriate
- Collaborate with operations leaders to understand the site equipment priorities.
- Collaborate with maint area mgr on employee training and development needs.
- Attend daily Gemba walks gleaning critical information and generating appropriate work orders or communication to affect the necessary repairs.
- Key participant in RCFA

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Qualifications
- Associate/Technical Degree in an industrial maintenance related field
- 5 or more years related industrial maintenance experience
- Ability to effectively function independently and make complicated decisions for maintenance equipment repairs.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to control confidential/sensitive information
- Ability to supervise / lead maintenance technicians
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal communications.
- Experience in collaborating with operations to ensure vital coordination and communication of equipment repairs.
- Shutdown / turnaround managing experience preferred but not required.
- High performance with proven leadership skills.
