Global Technology Application Manager (1802322) - Iselin, NJ or Houston, TX

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you that has a track record of success and expertise in the refining or catalyst space to help ensure our customers are optimizing their use and understanding of BASF's Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) Catalysts. This position will ideally be based in Iselin, NJ, but the Houston, TX location would be considered if that is the preferred location for the selected candidate.

Formula for Success
- Using your advanced education in Chemical Engineering (or related) and your knowledge of refining or catalysts, you will be responsible for the application of BASF catalyst & additive technologies at refineries.
- Through successful collaboration with customers, you will gather input/data from the current FCC operation at the refinery and convert it to actionable learnings (i.e., specific needs) for profitability improvement for the customer and the translate the customer needs into specific catalyst formulations (or modifications) for specific FCC units.
- Engaging with our with regional technical service teams to complement catalyst selection with process optimization at the refinery (i.e., identify and implement most beneficial operating parameters to be able capture highest possible benefit from our catalyst), you will proactively seek and implement adjustments to catalyst and operation to ensure continuous improvement and maximum value delivery to customer.
- Drawing on your knowledge of refining and/or catalysts, you will take part in troubleshooting efforts together with the regional technical services team to ensure successful application of our catalyst technologies at the refinery.
- Leveraging your expertise in the refining or catalysts space, you will be a key member of the product selection team (PST) and will contribute to the PST process for all offerings to global customers. You will take part in commercialization of new products and will be responsible for the refinery trial phase of the new product commercialization effort .
- Using your previous R&D experience, you will design and run a data-driven process that will support the pre-PST process (generate the starting point and evaluate further modifications) for catalyst selection and application.
- Engaging across the business globally, you will work with the Innovation & Evaluation Manager and Global Process Advisor to identify the most suitable catalyst solution(s) for future customers in FCC and other relevant processes.
- Using your ability to achieve and recognize success in this industry space, you will compile successful examples from the application of our catalyst technologies and coordinate their representation/demonstration via technical publications and industry presentations.
- By leading through influence and collaboration, you will align with the GKAMs and commercial network coordinators in catalyst technology utilization.
- This role requires up to 25% travel.
