Where the Chemistry Happens…

Plant Operator (1703179) – Kent, Washington

The Plant Operator works with various raw materials in the manufacture of products. They are responsible for following specific instructions outlining designated quantities to be used and production times required. They will operate various equipment while manufacturing products; operates forklift to load and/or unload raw materials and finished products. Also, coordinates manufacturing efforts and conducts quality control initiatives.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Basic qualifications:
- Must be able to solve simple math problems by using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills to accurately record chemical additions, lot numbers, record scale readings
- Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English to operate machines, Interface with PLC control screens, read and complete process orders, complete safety tests
- Must be able to work without constant supervision
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds throughout the shift
- Must be able to bend, push, pull, lift, and climb throughout the shift

Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months or more of experience in a manufacturing environment
