Description
- Support and maintain automation systems (hardware and software)
- Become proficient on all control systems at the site, including PLCs
- Work independently to troubleshoot and make configuration changes on assigned systems
- Understand typical field instrumentation and assist in troubleshooting and optimization
- Maintain automation system security and backups according to procedures
- Participate in 24-hour call-in coverage for automation systems
- Support the plant Process Control Network hardware and software
- Follow all OSHA, Federal & State regulations concerning automation
- Follow corporate and plant automation standards, guidelines and procedures
- Participate in control system hardware and software upgrades
- Interface with multidiscipline work groups on projects and plant support problems
- Stay abreast of current automation technology
- Support non-automation related services (Process Improvement teams, SOP development, process development, PHA teams, etc.) as required
- Assist as needed on automation teams for capital project implementation, including occasional startup shift coverage
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 4 years experience in chemical manufacturing is required
- Minimum 3 years automation experience is required
- Effective communication skills, a high degree of ownership, and personal initiative are required for success in this position.
