Global Performance Chemicals Technology Manager (1800514) – McIntosh, AL

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are looking for a professional like you to develop and co-implement global manufacturing strategies for plastic additives to meet market, quality, registration, and environmental requirements. In this role, you will reduce raw material and variable manufacturing cost, set-up implementation plans for process improvement-/capacity expansion-related capital investments, and minimize idle plant charges. You will serve as the technological focal point for the products and intermediates under responsibility, as well as own toll manufacturing and de-bottlenecking initiatives.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success
- Leveraging your educational and professional background in a Chemical industry-related discipline with experience in plant operations, process development, or a similar function, you will review existing global sourcing concepts (e.g., key raw materials, intermediates) to reduce cost and achieve the best cost position for Performance Chemicals.
- Successfully engaging across the organization, you will represent Performance Chemicals globally in discussions with Performance Chemicals Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Formulation, Registration, and other Regional Business Units for the products within the patron’s responsibility.
- Your commitment to continuous improvement will be a valued asset as you review and monitor established KPIs to determine where upgrades in technology should be applied, and initiate process improvement and engineering work.
- Your experience with economic feasibility studies will be essential as you collect data, review information, and write justifications for bigger capital improvement/capacity expansion projects.
- Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will play a key role in the development and review of the site capital investment plan with responsibility for improvement/capacity expansion projects.
- Serving as a role model, you will ensure EHS and QA guidelines are implemented at BASF and custom manufacturer sites.
