The Business Representative position, within our Agricultural Products Division, offers a unique opportunity for a professional to combine their respective sales and technical background to promote BASF’s industry leading innovations to growers.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Business Representative is accountable for market development and sales of company products, with a level of service that sustains key customer’s business relationship. Working from your home office, you will be accountable for attaining sales targets within a defined geographic territory. The majority of the business within the South Central Ontario Territory resides in the following counties - Durham, Northumberland, Peterborough, Hastings, and the New Liskeard region.

Business Representative – Central Ontario (1701979) – Mississauga, ON

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Define and attain the designated Product on Ground sales goals of strategic products, as outlined in the performance planning process, within a defined geographic territory.
- Develop objectives for performance evaluation, as well as incentive measurement, in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager.
- Conduct field-level market development of applicable products, performing various activities which include, but are not limited to, retailer training, targeted retail sales calls, targeted grower sales calls, targeted grower meetings, targeted customer tours, and industry trade shows.
- Produce a detailed Territory Analysis and Plan, including Retail Business Plans, on an annual basis, providing a formal review and renew of this plan at a semi-annual interval.
- Manage and resolve retail and grower product inquiries in a timely and professional manner, Utilize the database to target, update, and record information and plan activities pertaining to retailers and growers.
- Operate a defined geographic territory within specified expense budgets which include Travel and Living Allowance, Territory Initiatives, Targeted Grower Meetings, and Targeted Grower Tours, and utilizing these initiatives to build customer relationships.

- University degree, or equivalent, required in Agriculture or related science, Business, or Commerce. along with a minimum of 3 years of related professional experience.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to initiate, develop, and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- Self-directed, motivated, and innovative with to win and to develop the business.
- Sound organizational skills in areas of time management and priority allocation, along with a solid business and sales acumen.
